This is my 18th year to teach! I am the oldest teacher in our school! This will be my 14th year teaching here at Abiding Word. I also taught in Navasota ISD and Bryan ISD for a while when my husband was going to Texas A&M. I taught second grade for four years, third grade for 14, and fourth for four years. I know....that doesn't add up to 18...because for four years I taught third and fourth together in the same classroom. I had 26 children the year before the classes were split. I love third grade! It is my favorite grade to teach!

It is a blessing to not only be a teacher here, but an alumni! I went to school here for grades K-8. I then, attended a public high school (Klein Oak,) followed by college at Texas Woman's University in Denton, TX. I got my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education with a minor in ART. I teach all third grade subjects except. I am in charge of planning all art lessons here at our school in Grades 1-8. I love teaching ART!!!

I have been married for 21 years to my wonderful husband! We have three wonderful boys! My oldest is a senior in high school, middle son is a sophomore this year, and my youngest is starting 3rd grade! Yikes! In my free time (which during the year, I don't have much of,) I LOVE fishing, baking, spending time with my boys, and cleaning/organizing my house!

I can not wait to get to know each and every one of my new students! May God bless us with a wonderful year full of academic and spiritual growth!

Welcome to Third Grade!
School officially begins at 8:00 a.m. The first day of school is Wednesday, August 19th. We will be having chapel on Fridays this year, so don't forget to wear your uniform on Friday! Parents, please remember that due to Covid, we will not be allowing parents in the school building on the first day of school. Mrs. Brown will have a photo station outside and I will also take your child's photo in the classroom and email it to you! Thank you for understanding.
